Underwhelmed

Being underwhelmed is something that everyone experiences from time to time. For me, being underwhelmed usually occurs when I have a certain level of expectations. I create a vision in mind about how something should be, or about how an event should turn out, and when those expectations are not met, the underwhelm begins.

I have to admit that I have thus far been extremely underwhelmed by the response to my iPod Giveaway. Some may have even seen the moment when I canceled the giveaway, and then decided to post it again. I’m really torn. I thought I would have several linkbacks at this point and if I’m going to go forward, there is a certain level of linkage that I would want to achieve to consider the contest a success…

All that being said, I’m going to stick with the contest for now. When you make a public commitment like that, you need to be ready to follow through and now I feel like a whiny child that isn’t getting his way. I will let the iPod Giveaway ride and see what happens. If nothing else, I plan on learning a lot through the process. If people start participating, then that is awesome. If nobody wants to join in the fun, then I will pull the contest off the shelf.

When you are underwhelmed by an event, you have two options. You can either continue forward and take whatever the world decides to throw at you, or you can allow yourself to be underwhelmed to the point where you give up. I am going to let the underwhelm sit for a while and see what I can create from it.

Well crud. I just got back from my vacation and tho’t I’d check in to see who you gave the iPod to — hoping it was me. I’m guessing I did what I was supposed to so as to be entered, but maybe I didn’t. Didn’t anybody else? Well, anyhoo. I’m actually thinking I might ask for one from Santa if my “Uncle Chris” doesn’t come thru! haha
