Momentum For Life
With anything in life, it becomes easier once we have gained momentum. After the initial excitement about your new exercise routine, job or diet has worn off, you will need momentum to carry you forward. Without momentum, you will wake up a few days later and decide that you would rather go back to your old habits of being lazy, hating your job and eating donuts for lunch. Much in the way that Positive Sentiment Override causes you to view someone in a positive light, gaining momentum for your new idea or activity will help carry you through the hard times.
One thing to recognize is that when you want to start a new phase of your life, or start a new activity, or take your new idea to the next level, it is important to enroll people in your goals. When you enroll people, you are getting them excited about your new undertaking, and adding momentum to your cause. Your initial idea might make you feel great, but when you get other people involved, that is what really starts to roll the snowball down the hill.

Most great ideas that have made their mark on the world started with one person. That one person believed in their idea so much that they talked and talked and talked about it until finally someone else became totally enrolled in the idea. Then that new person started talking about the idea too. They talked and talked, until more and more people became enrolled. Eventually everyone was talking about the great idea, and a shift started to happen.
A great example of this is the Free Hugs Campaign. Free Hugs started with one person and a cardboard sign, and now it as grown into an International Community. Watch the Free Hugs Video and you will see exactly how momentum works.
Whatever you’re up to – maybe something bigger or smaller than Free Hugs - enrolling other people one at a time is the way to get where you’re going. You might get a few negative reactions at first, but keep at it and you will start to feel the momentum build in your direction. Enroll your friends in your new workout routine and they will checkup on you and keep you motivated. Enroll your family in your new business plan and they will be with you every step of the way. Life is about getting involved and living every day, and the best way to do that is to get other people involved in your life.

My twin sister use to yell at me when I “enrolled her in an idea!” haha She called it “jumping on the bandwagon” and didn’t care for me making everybody else believe they needed to get on…we’re over that. Just recently got her enrolled and my man in no more drinking. For me to focus, I have to change my whole lifestyle and that’s what I’ve done. It works, ’cause I don’t get sidetracked
Good post, Chris.

Sounds like you know exactly what I’m talking about. And I’m sure you see the power of getting those people in your life enrolled in your ideas.
When you really believe in something, you often don’t have to think about enrolling people - you do it automatically. But some times we doubt ourselves and that is when we really need to make a conscious effort to enroll people.
