Law of Polarity
I am not an expert on The Law of Attraction, but one thing that I picked up through my learning is the ideas around The Law of Polarity. Basically, The Law of Polarity says that any idea or thought can have an exact polar opposite. When you are using The Law of Attraction, it is important to use The Law of Polarity, and to ensure that you are using positive thoughts to attract things into your life. The example from The Secret says that if you are thinking about “Get out of debt”, that will only keep you in debt. What’s the polar opposite of debt? Financial abundance. So if you really want The Law of Attraction to work in this situation, you need to concentrate on “Financial abundance”, and not focus on “Get out of debt”.
Beyond The Law of Attraction, The Law of Polarity can be applied to many aspects of your life. Much in the way that Positive Sentiment Override can cause you to look at the good side of things, you can use The Law of Polarity to give yourself a generally positive outlook on life.
Here’s an example. I was just browsing MyBlogLog and noticed a user with a name “IWasALoser” (example). Now, while at first this may seem like an empowering name to give yourself, since you are not a loser anymore - really you living in the past (I was a loser) and bringing that past into your present and future. Every time you login with that name, every time you connect with someone and they associate you with that name, you are reminded of the negatives from your past. You might say that you were a loser, but if you really took a minute to think about how that name makes you feel, I bet it isn’t very positive.
If this person was to use The Law of Polarity to come up with a new name, they might end up with “IAmAWinner” or “IAmAmazing” - or something that gives them a positive feeling. These names are much more empowering, and let you live in the present.
Surrounding yourself with positive ideas and positive people will help you to bring more positive things into your life. If you insist on dwelling in the past and remaining attached to your negative ideas, it will be very difficult for you to ever escape them. Try looking around your life and see where you are hanging on to old negative habits or ideas, and try using The Law of Polarity to make a change in your life.

Brilliant, helpful, important idea:
“Surrounding yourself with positive ideas and positive people will help you to bring more positive things into your life. Try looking around your life and see where you are hanging on to old negative habits or ideas, and try using The Law of Polarity to make a change in your life”
It seems so simple to think positive, but sometimes it’s so hard.
Love this post very much.

Yes sometimes it is hard to be positive, and it isn’t something that you can do every minute of every day, but keeping positive overtones in your life will help you look on the bright side of things more often.
Glad you enjoyed the post,

You bring up a very good point, “IWasALoser” is not so much putting away the past as it is transitioning between the two phases. It’s important to remember to continue looking forward (after you’ve brought closure and gave yourself time to fully learn from the past you).
Although, haha, “IamAWinnner” sort comes off as arrogant. I think they’re can be other ways to promote a positive self that is also more inclusive of others as well.

Yes I think “IamAWinner” might be an arrogant way to put it, but it is important to put the past in your past. If you keep bringing your past (”IWasALoser”) into your present and future, you can’t ever fully move forward.
