Free Hugs Melbourne
Ange is a blogger that I came across on MyBlogLog. I really like her blog because I feel like she is coming from a good place, and she isn’t trying to pontificate. The first post that I read on Ange’s blog was about Free Hugs Day in Melbourne, Australia. Ange participated in a Free Hugs Day in Melbourne, which I think is totally awesome.
The Free Hugs Campaign is something that I learned about a while ago, and it is a pretty amazing story. It was started by a guy named Juann Mann who reminds me a lot of John Lennon, not that I ever met either of them. I think he started off in Sydney, trying to give out Free Hugs to people. Eventually he was ‘banned’ (I do not know the full story here) and then started collecting signatures. Now there are Free Hugs all over the world.
Here’s a video that will explain it better than I can:
Every since I first saw that video, I’ve wanted to do a Free Hugs Day, but it’s one of those things that falls to the side as you get caught up in the rest of life. I just checked out the message board on the Free Hugs website and it looks like I just missed a Free Hugs Day here in Chicago - I’m guessing it was organized along with Free Hugs in Melbourne and other countries. Hopefully we won’t have to wait long for another one.

I don’t know how to say it without being cheesy, but that was just beautiful. Maybe my fear of being cheesy is probably the problem, here. People shouldn’t feer showing their emotions. They should be comended!
Christopher, you should link to the free hug site, make it easy on us to find it. I went to Google to find it. Don’t let the less curious miss it just because it’s not linked.
Wonderful,
Thank you,
Tali

Glad you enjoyed it - there is a link in the post, but I added another one at the end of the post so it isn’t hidden inside a paragraph.

Hey Chris, thanks for the mention
@Tali
When you get to the Free Hugs Campaign site, join the forum and get involved. You may find something coming up in your area that you can join in on. If not, you could always find a friend or two and jsut go out and do it ike Brendan and I did. There were are other huggers in the CBD that day that we didn’t know about. It was a real buzz and I will do it again.
