Abs Diet

I’ve been working with the Abs Diet for several months now. I first read about the Abs Diet in Men’s Health Magazine, which isn’t surprising since the entire program was produced by Men’s Health and they run at least one article about the Abs Diet in every single issue.

I wasn’t eating poorly at the time, but I definitely was looking for some guidance around my eating habits. I knew that I shouldn’t stuff my face with candy or drink too much beer, but I had more questions around what I should be eating. I had tried randomly not eating bread and different things like that, but the Abs Diet seem straight forward enough that I could get on board.

The Abs Diet is based around 12 “Power Foods” that I have made the core of my diet. I still eat pizza and have a beer now and then. The idea is that you can go out and enjoy yourself, as long as you get back on the diet during your day-to-day life.

In reality, there are a few of the Power Foods that I only eat on occasion, but I am getting better about spreading myself across all the foods. One of the biggest things you can do for any diet, is to make sure that when you go to the grocery store, you buy everything you need and don’t buy any of the junk food.

The people at Men’s Health were even kind enough to develop a handy little method to help me remember what foods I should be eating:

Almonds & other nuts
Beans
Spinach & other greens
Dairy (low-fat)
Instant Oatmeal
Eggs
Turkey & lean meats
Peanut Butter (natural)
Olive Oil
Whole Grain Bread
Extra Protein (Whey) Powder
Raspberries & other berries

In case you didn’t catch that, it spells out “Abs Diet Power” which is a reference to the Abs Diet Power 12 Foods.

There’s really a lot to talk about surrounding this diet, but I think I’ve given a real basic idea here. If you’re reading this and the diet sounds like something you are interested in, check out the Abs Diet website - they actually have a lot of great information there - or feel free to contact me about it. I expect I will be posting more about this in the future.
